Welcome to the Central Florida Gliders, central Florida’s oldest track club, noted for developing youth runners. Our track season starts Monday, March 2nd at 5:30pm at Sanlando Park with the first practice with sign-ups in February. More information on our Track Program page. The cross country as well as the fall track training season starts in September with sign-ups in August. Practices for the spring/summer track season are in Altamonte Springs and Sanlando Park.
The Central Florida Gliders is a youth track & field, and cross country club serving boys and girls in Seminole and Orange Counties, and throughout the state of Florida. Founded in 1989 by Craig Wise, the Gliders and Gliders’ alumni have achieved success in local, state, national, and international competition.
The purpose of the Central Florida Gliders is to motivate the athlete to aspire too achieve leadership, discipline and integrity through the sport of track and field and cross country. The individual who makes the attempt is as much a part of the group as he or she who may attain the highest level of achievement. No one rides the bench! Additionally, the Gliders stress academic responsibility and community service.
The club trains in Seminole County at Sanlando Park, the Lake Brantley High School track, and is run by volunteer coaches, assistants and parents. The Club is a self-governing, self-supporting organization certified in the state of Florida as a non-profit corporation and exempt from Federal Income Tax and since it is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and all donations are tax deductible. Corporate and individual donations, grants and sponsorships have been the key to our success and are greatly appreciated.
